WTA Future Stars and ITFs

By accumulating the most ITF points of any 16 and under female in Australia in 2019, Talia won a points race and earned a place in a global invitational event called the WTA Future Stars. This event took place in October alongside the WTA Year End Finals in Shenzhen China.

Talia was coached by Tate and mentored by Casey Dellacqua through an intense week of competition where she won 6 of 7 singles matches, falling to the eventual winner of the event in the semi-final.

Among many highlights of an amazing week, Talia also met Grand Slam Champions Ash Barty and her coach Craig Tyzzer, Mary Pearce, Martina Hingis, Petra Kvitova, and also got to know a host of fantastic WTA and ITF staff, officials, administrators and top juniors from around the world.

The WTA Future Stars experience took place in the middle of a month long journey through Asia on a national team where Talia also competed at high level ITF events in Japan and Korea. Talia recorded 14 singles wins and 4 losses, and 3 doubles wins and 3 losses, making 3 semi-finals of the 4 singles events. This fantastic and consistent performance on a global stage has seen Talia's ITF junior ranking rise from 100 to 74 in the world and solidifies her position as a top 10 junior in the world for her age.
